Local sweetheart ready for the East Coast

Helena Wiese is an advertising major at Texas State University going into her senior year. She has spent the past few semesters taking creative classes and working on her capstone, which has piqued her interest in creative advertising and inspired her to build a strong portfolio.

Wiese is from an adventurous family and grew up taking camping trips with family friends. She has traveled and camped at many state parks in Texas, often frequenting Buescher State Park. She has also backpacked in Alaska along the Chilkoot Trail, roughly 33 miles. Wiese is well-versed with the West Coast, but not too familiar with the East Coast, which is why Acadia, Maine stook out to her. This will be the first study in America program she has participated in, and she is ecstatic to visit Maine. She is looking forward to broadening her horizons and visiting the East Coast for the first time. She is also excited to see the iconic lighthouse, to make lifelong bonds, and to create content she is proud of for her portfolio.

When Wiese is not exploring the great out doors, she likes doing Pilates, and she is a part of a sorority on campus, Delta Zeta. She also has a side hustle of doing gel nails out of her apartment.
