Abrielle Kate Maddison, who goes by Kate, is a senior journalism major at Texas State University. Although Maddison is a senior, she is only in her third year of schooling thanks to high school credits. Maddison chose Texas State after touring it late in her senior year of high school. Her reason for choosing the university is because of the many hills on campus. Originally being from Arkansas, Maddison knew she wanted to continue living in the hills.

After graduating from Texas State, Maddison hopes to turn her passion for photography into a career. She hopes to be either a photojournalist or a sports photographer in the future. Specifically, she would like to photograph football as she was in the marching band for many years. Maddison also held a spot on the Texas State color guard team her freshman year and joined the independent winter guard group her sophomore year. Maddison also had the opportunity to go on a DCI (Drum Corps International) summer trip where they practiced band for a month in Oklahoma and then traveled the East Coast.

Maddison chose the Acadia trip because she had both Dr. Blasingame and Dr. James as professors in previous classes and enjoyed them greatly. She has a love for the East Coast after a trip to visit her uncle in South Carolina, where she learned to surf.
