Mallory grew up spending her time outdoors with her family at their lake house in Livingston. Her passion for the water brought her to Texas State and, along with encouragement from her roommate Emma Scheurer, is bringing her to the Coast of Maine as well.
Mallory is an avid traveler, and her favorite vacation is hoping on a cruise to see as many destinations as possible. She has not yet gone camping, but she loves to hike and swim and especially tube the river.
Her close-knit family are her typical travel buddies, so she is both eager and apprehensive about going on her first out of state adventure without them to Acadia. Mallory is filled with enthusiasm to visit a National Park for the first time and make new friends in a unique learning environment.
Mallory and her roommate Emma, both met Jessica James and Dale Blasingame while taking a course at Texas State and thought a Study in America trip with them would be a great opportunity to expand their knowledge of mass communication. While in the park, Mallory is looking forward to enhancing her photography skills and getting out of her comfort zone by writing articles about the East Coast. The options are limitless for Mallory’s degree field, and she hopes that through this trip she can learn how to combine her love of outdoors and photography into a potential career.
